Your prescription will be available for collection 48 hours after requesting.
We encourage all our patients to use The NHS App as the simplest and most secure way to manage your repeat prescriptions.
Owned and run by the NHS, the app allows you to order your repeat prescriptions directly from your smartphone or tablet. You can view your current prescription list, check the status of your requests, and select your preferred pharmacy for collection.
The NHS App links directly to your prescription record at the practice, making it the quickest and easiest way to request your medication — without needing to call or visit the surgery.
If you haven’t already, download the NHS App today and take control of your prescriptions from the comfort of your home.
If you need help getting started, our reception team will be happy to assist.
You can order your repeat prescription online using Patient Access.
The simplest and quickest way to order your repeat medication is by using Patient Access which links directly to your Prescription record at the Practice.
If you’re not registered with Patient Access, you can use our online form.
If you do not have a Patient Access account, you can still order your repeat prescription via our online Repeat Prescription form. No account required.
You can order in person by returning the right-hand half of a previous prescription for the required medications.
Alternatively, you can submit a handwritten request. You may also write out an order for someone else, providing you include the patient’s name and date of birth and requested medication.
For patients aged over 65 years old, or housebound, you can order your prescription via telephone between the hours of 14:00 and 16:00.
Prescriptions can also be sent via email to kmicb.scripts@nhs.net if preferred.
You can post your prescription slip or written request to us at the Practice.
You must include a stamped addressed envelope for return by post if you will not be able to pick up your prescription from the Surgery. Please allow at least seven days if requesting your medication by post.
If you are on repeat medication, you will be asked to have your prescription reviewed at least once a year. Some medications may require more frequent reviews depending on your condition. When a review is due, you will receive a notification message on your repeat prescription slip.
Medication reviews are usually carried out by a GP and can take place either in person or as a telephone consultation, depending on what’s most appropriate.
In some cases, our nursing staff may carry out medication reviews during specialist clinics, such as those for diabetes or asthma. If you’re unsure who will be reviewing your medication, it’s always a good idea to check with the practice.
As soon as you see a review message on your prescription slip, please book an appointment without delay. This could be either a face-to-face or a telephone consultation. Booking promptly helps us avoid any unnecessary delays to future prescriptions and ensures your medication remains safe and effective.
